Fortunately for us, the perfect swimwear collection has landed. New Zealand-born sustainability-focused brand Maggie Marilyn has partnered with renowned Australian swimwear brand FELLA Swim to create an exclusive capsule collection.
The collaboration is a match made in heaven, bringing together FELLA’s signature form-fitting, modern styles and Maggie Marilyn’s recognisable red and navy stripes to create a collection of separates and one-pieces that encapsulate a perfect summer’s day.
The mastermind behind Maggie Marilyn is self-confessed “summer baby” Maggie Hewitt. Maggie grew up in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands and has poured her summer nostalgia into the brand, which, since its inception in 2016, has become synonymous with femininity and timelessness – with a special fondness for nautical stripes.
FELLA was born in 2012 at the hands of Co-Founders Rosie Iffla and Christine Tang-Corte – a time when, according to the owners, “mass market, barely-there surf brands dominated the category…and everything had overly feminine trims such as ruffles, or poorly-made padding that offered no support.”
Rosie and Christine wanted to “bring a sense of simplicity and modesty to Australian swimwear,” so they focused on “high-quality fabrics, beautiful fits and refined shapes that could be worn on and off the beach.”
When speaking to THE INARRA about the collection, FELLA’s Co-Founder Christine Tang-Corte said the decision to collaborate was easy. “Maggie Marilyn and FELLA coexist at the same agency, so it was a simple question: ‘Would you be interested in a collaboration?’ And the rest is history,” says Christine. “We combined Maggie’s stripes with our existing core shapes to create a small resort capsule collection exclusive to our stores.”
The collection includes iconic FELLA styles handpicked by Maggie, such as the Casanova Top, a supportive, underwired bra-like top; the Hunter Top, a bandeau with a front knot; and the flattering Harvey one-piece.
