It’s funny how quickly your holiday priorities shift once you become a parent. In my 20s, when I was young, wild, and child-free, I prided myself on being an adventurous globe-trotter, and you couldn’t pay me to go to an all-inclusive resort. How naff! I would have laughed as I set up camp in a grimy dorm room in a remote town in Poland. Well, fast-forward to the next chapter of my life with children, and a beautifully appointed, family-friendly hotel that you don’t even have to leave sounds like heaven.
And yes, of course, you can still travel the world with kids! But you may just need to manage your expectations and tailor your destinations and accommodation accordingly. Because when you’re on holiday with kids, you’re not really on holiday. You’re just parenting in another location… unless you hack the system and stay somewhere that makes it feel like a proper break.
Whether it’s a next-level kids’ club, excellent rooms, on-site activities for kids, amazing pools, games, and entertainment, or just an all-encompassing, welcoming atmosphere that puts children first, we’ve rounded up the top ten most family-friendly hotels in Australia.
