How To Dress Your Bump This Winter According To Stylist Jess Pecoraro

Not sure how to dress your bump this winter? We asked Australia’s leading celebrity stylist, Jess Pecoraro, for style advice.

Navigating Australian winter is no easy feat. Throw pregnancy into the mix, and it’s challenging for even the most sartorially eloquent of us. So, where to begin?

In search of inspiration, we turned to Australia’s leading celebrity stylist, Jess Pecoraro. With high-profile clients Georgia Fowler, Jesinta Franklin, and Delta Goodrem on the books, Jessica is well-versed in everything there is to know about getting dressed. And we couldn’t think of anyone better to ask for advice when dressing your bump this winter.

From Jess’ go-to maternity-friendly brands to the items on her wish list this season, here’s everything we learned.

What three items should every maternity winter wardrobe have?

1. A black or navy longline wool coat.    2. An oversized cashmere jumper.     3. A simple boot.

What old-fashioned maternity fashion rules should we break?

“Modern day pregnancy dressing has been celebrated recently, and it’s so nice to see women make bold fashion choices when they’re pregnant. Break all of the rules, wear what makes you feel good and comfortable – whether that’s jeans with a crop top or track pants. Embrace it all, as this is a period of your life that will go by so quickly.”

What three winter items should be on our readers’ wishlist this season?

  1. The Row Suede Ankle Boots in chocolate. They’re a classic boot that you will invest in once and love forever.
  2. A black trench coat – either in faux or real leather.
  3. A red oversized sweater. This is a great way to add a touch of colour to a winter look.

Do you have any advice for women struggling to feel confident during pregnancy?

“Always remember that maternity is just for a short time, and it will pass, so try to enjoy it. Accessories are a game changer when you’re pregnant, as they’re an easy way to add some glam or an extra cool element to a look. Accessories are also items you can invest in and wear post-pregnancy.”
